After Hal recently got himself added to Planet Jabber, he suggested I do the same. So, a very short conversation with ralphm later, I’m listed.
The relevant
Since I’m pretty much a complete unknown, my introduction follows.
I’m Kevin Smith and I’m currently the property of the Psi project. I started contributing patches to Psi some years ago, mainly trying not to screw things up too badly. Recently, Justin Karneges stepped down as maintainer and I found myself taking over the position. So I’m currently project lead/maintainer for Psi.
The irrelevant
In my ‘real’ life, outside Jabber, I’m currently studying for a PhD in Computer Science, which I’ll hopefully finish before the year’s out. I guess no-one cares but my ego demands I announce anyway that my study revolves around multi-objective optimisation using simulated annealing. In my time spare from that, I also practise TaeKwon-Do at my university club. I’m also currently the club captain, although I’ll be stepping down shortly. I’m also too young to be this busy.

Ok, I’ve converted my old wordpress hacks into a new wordpress 1.3 theme, so now everything is demonstrating my complete lack of css skills quite well. The main site, what little there is of it works again though, which is nice.
Apart from this, nothing to report. Signing off.

I’ve been neglecting my blog recently.
This is mostly because the test version of wordpress I’ve been running went mad and hated me. I’ve now upgraded to a newer development version, so this will probably go wrong in various other interesting ways. It’s currently taken over my website, and seems to be preventing any other content appearing. Go me.

Well, I’ve just spent an exciting Sunday afternoon prodding Wordpress into using the style from the rest of my site, and the rest of my site into using the links from Wordpress. I still haven’t written the ‘News’ feed on the front page, but hopefully I’ll gain some competence at some point soon and do so
Also had my first comment posted by someone other than Cath last night. Thanks Roz

Right, the blog appears to be (fingers crossed) running. I don’t have much to say though, unfortunately.
Had a headache, came to work. Work’s not aiding matters as the lights in the lab give me headaches at the best of times. I suppose I should try and set cath up with a blog too at some point.
